When in Rome: The Art of Travel Juried Exhibition 2024

Call for Entry

When in Rome: The Art of Travel is a dual online art exhibition and digital art publication opportunity for artists to share visually captivating expressions of imagined, regional or international travels in hot or cold wax creations.

Online Exhibition Dates: December 16, 2024 - January 31, 2025

Art Magazine Publication Date: (Tentatively) February 2 -15, 2025

When in Rome: The Art of Travel celebrates the spirit of adventure and opportunity for education that comes with exploring new places and encountering new cultures. The International Encaustic Artist organization (IEA) invites artists to interpret the journey of exploring a distant destination, revisiting a hidden gem in your own backyard or a wild ride from your imagination. Artists are encouraged to share their experiences, emotions and one-of-a-kind stories.

Travel may be described as a holiday, vacation or work trip with time for relaxation, discovery or the creation of unforgettable memories. Visiting other cities, states or countries offers opportunities to immerse oneself in new experiences, architecture, landscapes, traditions, foods and cultures. Whether you are miles from home, enjoying a "staycation," or traveling through your imagination, we are excited to see your interpretation of travel.

Selected artwork will be featured on the IEA website in an online art exhibition and be published in a digital art magazine. Three (3) Juror Awards will also be given: $150, $100 and $50. These recipients will have the opportunity to write an article in the Spring IEA Wax Fusion magazine.
