When In Rome: The Art of Travel Juried Exhibition 2024
Welcome to When in Rome: The Art of Travel, a juried online art exhibition inspired by visually captivating expressions of imagined, regional and international travels. There are more than trains, planes and automobiles included in this collection of art! This visual wonderland gives viewers a chance to relax and take a virtual vacation without ever leaving home. Some paintings have visual clues that reference historical buildings or landscapes, while others present an otherworldly landscape or dramatically abstracted point of view. Masterfully created and constructed, there are paintings with relief elements and 3-dimensional wax sculptures that are exciting and exploratory. While the portraiture and figural imagery challenge perceptions of place and the act of being present to the moment. Opportunity awaits - experience magical moments and be transported to another place and time.

In addition to the stunning paintings and sculptures selected for this exhibition, there are descriptive stories that coincide with the artwork. The IEA will share the artists' narratives in a special digital publication in early February, so be sure to come back to visit for access to the link. The exhibition’s juror, Michelle Robinson, confirms, “many of the artists are great storytellers!”
